Comments on Spiritual History:
I grew up attending a Lutheran church. In my early
teen years, I had a desire to become a pastor. But in my high school
and college years I made decisions that were contrary to God's
Word and becoming a pastor was forgotten.
At the age of 21 God brought me to a Christian and
Missionary Alliance church in
Stow, Ohio
where I was challenged with the gospel by two Christian men, Larry
Boyd and Howard Gustafson. Their words and actions helped me see my
need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He became my
Savior and Lord in the spring of 1972.
After several years I made decisions that took me out
of God's will again. My life fell apart. I became a workaholic, had
tremendous financial debt, my marriage was failing and I was
miserable. After seven years of living this way, there came a time
when I almost had a nervous breakdown. I recommitted my life to the
Lord and immediately things began to change.
There were still consequences to years of ignoring God
but God helped me cope and my life was rebuilt. The marriage that
brought three children into the world had ended, but God brought Lucy
into my life. The financial debt was eventually paid. I began leading
Bible studies and helping men walk in closer relationship with Jesus
Christ. Linworth
Rd. Church,
gave me opportunities to grow as a leader over the 18 years that Lucy
and I attended there. God's rebuilding of my life culminated with the
call to Berlin,
Germany
to work with Rock Berlin. God is using my life experiences to make
difference for Him in Berlin.
I am grateful for Jesus
redeeming my life both for the present and eternity. I look forward
with excitement to all that God will do during our time in
Germany.
